Interesting early insight into the world of the internet from Jean Baudrillard‘s secpultrum theory of the internet veiwing. The theory explains the audience and the technology like television and how it began the change we see today in modern rich media society. In this post there are two video’s from early English TV. Tom Baker has some interesting things to bring up about the history of computer text and how the media and multi media came to be.

Language and hypertext is explained and how it has effected the way readers read and the way most writers today write. We see this today as people think more about modern SEO, as people use anchor text and add text to images to maximise the amount of readers.

Douglas Adams: Parrots the Universe and Everything

Douglas Adams was the best-selling British author and satirist who created The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. In this talk at UCSB recorded shortly before his death, Adams shares hilarious accounts of some of the apparently absurd lifestyles of the world’s creatures, and gleans from them extraordinary perceptions about the future of humanity.
